Due Diligence / Supplier Assessment
TestIT's customer was considering the formation of a
major business partnership with a Spanish software development
organisation. TestIT was able to provide a detailed
independent technical overview of the product and also
an evaluation of the level of support and technical
expertise provided by the Spanish organisation.
Key areas of the assessment included product installation,
product tools, controlled software upgrades (using secure
web downloads), documentation, compatibility with defined
hardware platforms and measurement of product performance.
As a direct result of the Test Report provided by TestIT,
the customer was able to make an informed decision and
on this occasion decided that the third party product
and organisation was not as mature and comprehensive
as was hoped and decided not to pursue the venture.
Consequently other products were considered - and developed
- and TestIT's customer now finds itself in a much stronger
market position.
Other Projects
TestIT continues to provide its services across a broad
range of sophisticated cash handling and security projects.
These typically involve the real-time control and management
of complex networks running cash dispensing and deposit
(recycling) devices used in many large European and
American retail bank environments, in both front and
back-office.
A typical example is an ongoing project which provides
a testing solution for a banking / teller cash-connect
project. TestIT has tested as many as 30 separate (iterative)
releases. As the system has developed, enhanced functionality
has been incorporated such as support for new hardware
devices, new currencies (particularly the Euro), country-specific
requirements and technologies such as .NET, XFS, UNIX
and JAVA. The product has matured and is now selling
across Europe, the Americas and particularly well in
China where it was critical that it supported communication
between SCO-UNIX and Win32 applications.
In the last 12 months, TestIT has successfully delivered
testing solutions in many locations in the UK, Lisbon
(Portugal), Chicago (USA), Frankfurt (Germany) and on-site
in both Geneva and Bern (Switzerland).
