Services Provided by TestIT

Requirements Verification
TestIT’s customers typically have a very wide range of completeness of their product specifications and such documentation. This of course is a major issue to producing a successful product. TestIT’s analysts have become used to planning tests having sometimes been given only very sketchy details of what the product is intended to dd - they focus on waht is actually required, rather than what is believed to be required. This has been found to be a major advantage of using a truly independent test facility. TestIT’s analysts have not typically been involved in the direct development of the product and so do not make assumptions, emulating the end users.
This enables TestIT to quickly identify issues which may have otherwise been missed - and this approach is well planned, thus ensuring, as far as is practicable, that the Application under Test (AUT) can be demonstrated to be robust, functional and complete.

5-Star Product Realisation
TestIT maintains its own 5-star Product Realisation System as part of the ISO-certified management process. In practice this means that TestIT follows a pre-defined and straightforward approach for each test or for each component of a test. To better calculate or estimate the cost of testing at the commencement of the project, TestIT has found that this component-driven system enables it to reasonably predict the effort required on each subset and provide customers with a realistic cost breakdown. If a significant problem is found (as often occurs), the process enables testing to be halted and then later re-started at an appropriate scale.
In terms of further breaking down costs, TestIT’s strategy is to only use experienced staff rather than over-documenting the test activity. It has been found that that too much documented detail is in reality un-maintainable; using experienced test analysts and letting them use their own volition at each stage in the testing process has proven to be a far better approach in terms of both cost and success in testing.
TestIT has demonstrated, over many projects, the significant savings that can be made by the inclusion of an independent assurance organisation and also the hidden costs of reputation, staff morale, staff retention etc.
